We're previewing the Open Profile! If you're one of tribe.net's top 1000 most active users, and you're receiving our newsletter, you'll find instructions in today's newsletter about how to activate your profile.
The new, customizable Open Profile lets you personalize the identity you share on tribe.net. This includes:
- Choosing which friends are shown on your profile
- Choosing which tribes are shown on your profile
- Adding a blog to your profile
- Featuring a large-format photo on your profile
- Choosing the order of display for any content on your profile
It's just the beginning in what we hope will become a truly personal experience on tribe.net. We're debuting a whole host of new technologies with this release, and to make sure it all works as designed, we're testing everything with our most active users. Please let us know what you think, whether you're looking at or customizing a profile!

Thu, February 24, 2005 - 2:08 PMI tried this at work, but unfortunately we're on G4 macs running OS9, which means we're running Internet Explorer 5.1, which means the new profiles just look WONKED.
Any solutions to this? I can't find another browser that works with this ancient thing. -

Hey Heather,
Netscape 7 works fine on OS9. You can get it here:
channels.netscape.com/ns/brow...e70x.jsp
Just click one of the MacPowerPC links to download it. I used 7.0 but 7.02 will probably also work.

What?!? How in Jebus' name could I *not* be on the list of 1000 most active users. I start tribes, I post like crazy, I'm on nearly 24 hours a day... still I'm on the outside looking in... -

We wanted to roll the functionality out slowly, so we started by inviting 1000 people. After a few days, we'll expand it, and then (probably with our next major release) make it available to everyone. -
