with the new profile release tribe will have a module that will aggregate what someone is saying across all tribes. of course this will be at your option to have it or not. what does everyone think of that?

Does this mean - having a link to "last 10 postings/replies" kind of thing? Direct links to the stuff you've been saying in your tribes?

If so, I think this is kinda creepy. I'd definitely "uncheck" this option, as maybe I want to make it harder for people to "e-stalk" me and see exactly what I've been saying..... at this point, they can see my tribes, but it takes a lot of effort to surf through all messages in a tribe, to see what you've been up to.

But of course, if I didn't want people to see what I was saying, I wouldn't post it in a public forum.... it's just weird to have it all in one place.

i'm always in favor of more control for tribs, so the option of choosing "all posts" or the number of most recent posts would be nice.

another easy way to control privacy would be to choose which of of our *tribes* to exclude from "see what i'm saying," much like the way the new profile lets us choose which tribes to display. maybe i don't mind folks stalking my posts, but would rather not go wide with my feelings on "troll love."

non-sequiturd: it'd also be fun to have a "best of" option where folks link there favorite posts/threads. doesn't even have to be their own.

that's a great idae but pretty power user. might work to just let people exclude mature or not.

thx to everyone for positive feedback on this.

You mentioned making public/private (or was it business/social) information discrete, which would allow us to show "what I'm saying" across our business tribes without necessarily having our comments from the "Burning sensation at Burning Man" discussion right in the middle.

Not that I have any post-burning man conditions that I'd like to hide from my business associates...

I belong to varied tribes and sometimes spend hours going back and forth. While I know I can be a prism of stuff. I think the opportunity is to become canned and "stick on message" to appeal to a lot of people or be very individualistic.

It will be interesting to see how it works and who takes the opportunity and who doesn't (i.e. who will have more members and who won't)
